Cookie Monster & Elmo Cupcakes

This order was for an Elmo loving little guy for his birthday.  You can find a million pins for Elmo and cookie Monster cupcakes on Pinterest.  I made these simply with fondant facial features, a little edible ink for the eyes, and colored butter cream piped using a large grass tip for Cookie Montser and star tip for Elmo.  These were fun and easy to make.  Give it a try!

Rainbow Cupcakes

For a little girl (my son adores!) on her birthday...Rainbow Cupcakes!  Made with sour candy ropes, different colored liners, and blue and white butter cream for the sky and clouds.  The butter cream is a little thicker so it will support the candies.  Anyone can do these! Try them and I promise it will brighten your day!  :)

Dr. Seuss Gender Reveal Cake and Cupcakes

Well this post was supposed to happen about a month ago.  As they say in MN, Uffda!  It's been a month. We are more than ready for spring.  It has to happen sometime soon, right?!

This gender reveal cake and cupcakes were Dr. Seuss themed for a book loving family expecting baby #2.  Mom was very involved in the design of the cake and cupcakes, which made my job easy peasy!  Here's what we came up with...

"Thing 2" cake with red fondant stripes as a nod to The Cat's hat.  "Will THING 2 be Pink or Blue?"

Mom wanted their daughter to feel special on this day dedicated to her soon to be sibling so we made only one of the cupcakes with the "THING 1" round on it just for her.  How sweet! :)

The rest of the cupcakes had a "THING 2" and red "?" fondant rounds on top of them.

I don't have a very good poker face, but despite having a conversation with the Mom when she picked up the cake about what her inkling of the gender was, I still managed to keep secret that the inside was BLUE! :)
